It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of one of our own, Rhonda Welcer, a beloved member of the Mays Landing Cornhole League. Rhonda joined us in the spring of 2024 and played six consecutive seasons alongside her daughter, Kristen.
Her other daughter, Jessica, and her husband, Ryan, also became part of our league family and have supported the community through their business, Fairview Chiropractic and Wellness.
Rhonda brought a special energy to every season, competitive yet kind, with a spirit that lit up any board she stood beside.
One of our favorite memories comes from the summer of 2024, when Rhonda went on an incredible solo run while Kristen was on vacation.
Match after match, she surprised herself with how well she was playing, laughing between throws and shaking her head in disbelief. Her daughter was getting every update from afar, and Rhonda could not stop smiling. When she placed third that season, she was so proud, and we all were too.
Another unforgettable moment came when we captured a photo of her mid-match, looking fierce and focused.
She did not love that picture, but we like to think it quickly became a favorite because it showed another side of her: strong, determined, and full of heart.
Behind that intensity was someone who always encouraged her opponents, celebrated their wins, and made everyone feel welcome.

The cornhole league was such a bright spot in her week this past year and a half. She really enjoyed the community, the game, and being a part of the Baggin Blondes.
Rhonda’s funeral services will be held on Friday, October 31st, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Wimberg Funeral Home in Galloway. The family will include photos of Rhonda in her prime cornhole form in the memorial slideshow.
Rhonda’s loss will be deeply felt throughout our league. She was not just a teammate or a player.
She was part of what made this community special. Our thoughts are with Kristen, Jessica, Ryan, and their entire family during this difficult time.
