Welcome back to the Mays Landing Cornhole League! Our Fall 2025 season officially kicked off this past Thursday, and while the weather was much kinder than summer, the boards were buzzing with energy right from the start.
We’re thrilled to see familiar faces returning and excited for what this season has in store.
A total of 16 out of 22 teams competed on opening night. Baggin Blondes were in Alaska, Hula Girls and Tree Surgeons were in Florida, Husk and a Half and The Corndoggs were absent, and MoneyBagz arrived just as the night wrapped up.
Allegedly, we even have a 23rd team preparing to join the league, though they start from behind with four automatic losses after missing Week 1.
Week 1 Highlights
Three teams walked away undefeated to start the season: BagStreet Boys, our reigning champions; DEEZ NUTS, who look poised to make a serious run; and 4 Bags 1 Hole: One Last Ride, who made an immediate statement.
For the first time in a while, one game was decided by five points or fewer. On the other end of the spectrum, the average margin of victory across the night was 17 points, which is outrageous by league standards and shows just how wild Week 1 can be.
We even tuned into the Eagles’ pre-game show during league play, which set the mood perfectly for a great night.
New Arrivals
The Blueys and Greenies have officially arrived, as well as the nameplate for the BagStreet Boys, completing their spot on the championship plaque at Freddy J’s. It’s a proud moment for the reigning champs as they join the history of our league permanently on display.
Also, T-shirts for the season have arrived and will be ready for Week 2. Huge thanks to NJ Print-Wear and Screen Print Wife for their outstanding work and quick turnaround.
Freddy J’s Specials
Thursdays mean cornhole, community, and great food. Freddy J’s Bar & Kitchen remains the hub of league nights. Don’t miss out on $1 wings and $2 Yuenglings every Thursday, and keep an eye out for the fall menu dropping soon.
