A Fierce Night on the Boards
Week 4 of the Mays Landing Cornhole League was one of the most competitive yet. Out of 23 registered teams, 18 took the boards for an evening that was less about nail-biting finishes and more about complete domination.
From the very first bag thrown, it was clear that players came ready to lock in standings and make statements at the halfway point of the season.
The energy carried through every round, and although the games lacked the razor-thin margins of earlier weeks, the intensity was unmistakable.
Who We Missed
Five teams were absent this week. Fairview Chiropractic and Wellness, LLC, Throwgo Baggins, The Courne Identity, The Corndoggs, and Lucky Sacks did not compete.
Even with their absence, the boards remained busy, and the action continued to be strong.
Their missed games create opportunities for other teams to climb in the standings, and it will be interesting to see how these squads bounce back in the coming weeks.
Cornflakes Rise to the Top
Cornflakes were the only team to go undefeated in Week 4, and it was a performance that shook up the standings in a big way.
With their perfect night, Cornflakes vaulted into the top three for the season, overtaking DEEZ NUTS. Their consistency and ability to close out games decisively are setting them up as a true contender as the season rolls on.
Other teams should take note: Cornflakes are heating up at exactly the right time.
League Rules Reminder
It is time to address an issue that cannot be ignored. This is a bar league, and outside alcohol is not allowed under any circumstances. Twisted Teas and other drinks brought from home will not be tolerated.
Deez Nutz attempted to bend the rules this week, and for that, they are being publicly called out. Moving forward, if any team brings outside alcohol, that team will forfeit their games that week.
Do not try to sneak in Surfsides or any other drinks we do not serve. If there is a beverage you would like, please speak with the bar staff, and we will do our best to order it for you.
This is the final warning.
We are here to compete, enjoy ourselves, and support Freddy J’s as the host of this league. Do not risk your team’s season by breaking this rule.
Better Late Than Never
We are excited to welcome MoneyBagz, who finally made their first appearance in Week 4.
While starting late in the season may not improve their overall standings, our league provides everyone with the flexibility to participate when they can and still compete in the championship.
It may not give them the best chance for seeding, but we always say it is better late than never.
Their arrival brings fresh energy and another squad ready to shake things up.
Halfway Point of the Season
Week 4 marked the official halfway point of the Fall 2025 season. This is when the fall weather truly begins to set in. The sun goes down earlier, and the October chill creeps across the boards as the night goes on.
For those who are new to playing in the fall, be sure to dress warmly and come prepared. The competition will keep you moving, but the crisp air is unlikely to go away anytime soon.
With half the season still to come, this is the time to build momentum and make a push toward the playoffs.
