A Fierce Night on the Boards
Week 5 of the Fall 2025 season delivered another unforgettable night of cornhole. Out of 23 registered teams, 20 hit the boards with intensity, leaving little room for error. From the first throw, the energy was clear: this was a week where dominance ruled, and statement wins defined the night.
The action leaned heavily toward blowouts, with only five games decided by nine points or less. Every other match was defined by wide margins, proving that Week 5 was more about decisive victories than nail-biting finishes. Still, the few close battles provided plenty of drama, including one of the season’s most thrilling comebacks.
Who We Missed
Three teams were absent this week: Tree Surgeons, Hula Girls, and Lucky Sacks. While some joked that Justin was “traded” from Lucky Sacks to become a coach, insiders know not to count this squad out. Lucky Sacks may have sat out Week 5, but come championship time, they’re still a team that could surprise everyone.
Standings Shake-Up at the Top
The leaderboard saw a major shift. 4 Bags 1 Hole: One Last Ride took the top overall position after going undefeated, knocking Cornflakes back one spot into second. These two teams have been trading blows in the standings all season long, and just 26 points now separate them.
Both teams went undefeated in Week 5, but the real story came from These Effin Guys, who edged them out for the weekly points crown. Their total was four points higher than 4 Bags 1 Hole: One Last Ride, proving that they are a force capable of disrupting the top contenders.
Close Calls and Big Comebacks
Though the night was dominated by blowouts, a few games were instant classics. Husk and a Half pulled off one of the biggest comebacks of the season, clawing their way back against Baggin Blondes to secure a win. That dramatic finish was enough to propel them up two spots in the overall standings.
Husk and a Half finished 3-1 on the night, making them the biggest movers in the standings this week. Their resilience and ability to rally under pressure mark them as a dangerous opponent moving into the back half of the season.
Season Outlook – Second Half Begins
We are officially in the second half of the Fall 2025 season. The nights are getting darker earlier, with the sun setting before 7 PM, and the crisp fall air has arrived. Players should be prepared for cooler temperatures as we move toward playoff season.
So far, the weather has been kind compared to the rainy chaos of summer, and we look forward to continuing strong as the season heads toward its dramatic conclusion. With the standings tightening and playoff seeding approaching, every bag now carries even greater weight.
Freddy J’s Specials
Freddy J’s Bar & Kitchen remains the heart of league nights. Players and fans fueled up again with $1 wings and $2 Yuenglings, the perfect pairing for a competitive Thursday night.
Even more exciting, chili is officially back on the menu for the season, bringing comfort food vibes for the cooler weather. And next week, new sandwiches and burgers will be making their debut on the fall menu. Whether you’re celebrating a win or regrouping after a tough loss, Freddy J’s is where the community comes together.
