Dear Mays Landing Cornhole League Members,
Welcome to the Spring Season of the Mays Landing Cornhole League! We are set to launch this Thursday at 7 pm and are excited to announce a spectacular turnout of 44 teams. As we gather to celebrate the community, competition, and the spirit of cornhole, we want to share some important details and exciting new additions for this season.
Season Sponsors:
We’re proud to be sponsored by Fairview Chiropractic and Wellness, Kneble’s Auto Service Center, and Freddy J’s Bar & Kitchen. Their generous support enhances our league experience and contributes to the fantastic community vibe we all enjoy.
Location & Parking:
This season’s matches will occur in the parking lot of Kneble’s Auto. If you’re facing the building, we’ll be on the right side, and if you’re looking at the street, on the left. Parking is available at Freddy J’s, around Kneble’s Auto, in the area between Freddy J’s and Kneble’s Auto, on Old River Road and Atlantic Avenue. Please carpool, as parking may get difficult.
Arrival Time:
Please arrive early on week 1 to help us get everyone started on time and to enjoy a full evening of cornhole fun.
Airmail Challenge:
This season introduces an Airmail Challenge, a 50/50 competition benefiting charity, with our first contribution going to the Mays Landing Food Pantry. Test your skill to win half the pot, with tickets available each week at 1 for $5, 3 for $10, and 7 for $20. You’ll have 4 tosses to claim your prize, with unclaimed winnings rolling over to the next week for an even bigger pot!
Food and Drink Specials:
Freddy J’s will offer exclusive specials for our league members, including buckets of beer and seltzers, mouth-watering $1 wings, and $2 Yuenglings. This means no outside food or alcohol. Draft Beer and liquor cocktails are prohibited.
Equipment & Scorekeeping:
While bean bags will be provided, you can bring your own. Additionally, continue to use the Scoreholio app for up-to-date scorekeeping and match schedules, ensuring smooth gameplay throughout the season.
Bring Your Comfort:
We understand the importance of comfort during those in-between-match moments. Feel free to bring your chairs, blankets, or anything else you need to relax and enjoy the time with your fellow cornhole enthusiasts.
Weather Contingency Plan:
We all know the weather can be unpredictable, and safety and enjoyment are our top priorities in the event of rain. Should rain interfere, we must cancel that day’s matches. Not to worry, though—we’ve got a plan to keep the season on track! Any canceled matches will be made up over the following two weeks, which means those weeks may have up to 6 matches instead of the standard 4. This ensures every team can play, regardless of weather interruptions.
Stay Connected:
Don’t forget to follow us on Instagram and Facebook @mayslandingcornholeleague for the latest updates, photos, and fun from our league. It’s a great way to stay connected with the community and share your cornhole moments!
As we embark on another season filled with camaraderie and competition, we encourage everyone to embrace the new additions and the wonderful atmosphere our players and sponsors created. Your participation and support make the Mays Landing Cornhole League a cherished community event.
If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions, please don’t hesitate to let us know. Let’s make this season unforgettable!
Looking forward to seeing you all this Thursday!
Warmest regards,
Grant
