Weeks 5 and 6 delivered another exciting doubleheader for the Summer 2025 Mays Landing Cornhole League. After Week 5 was canceled due to rain, our teams stepped up once again for back-to-back matchups. Thank you to all the teams who braved the intense heat and humidity, showcasing true resilience and dedication.
We had 24 of our 29 teams competing on the boards this week. We missed seeing Corndoggs, Sack Attack, Tree Surgeons, Miller Time, and Hula Girls, but we look forward to their return for the crucial final week of the regular season.
Big Shake-ups & Tight Races!
Team Fairways made their return to the top three for the first time since Week 2, highlighting the ever-changing dynamics of the leaderboard.
This doubleheader was more about points than ever before, with several teams ending up tied on wins. Remarkably, nine of our top ten teams each went 6-2, creating an incredibly competitive logjam. The following five teams also turned in strong performances, finishing with five wins and three losses.
Matches Down to the Wire
Several games came down to just a single point, emphasizing how tight the competition has become:
- Lucky Sacks narrowly defeated Buzzin & Baggin, 21 to 20.
- Not Responsibles faced back-to-back heartbreaks, losing by one point to Deez Nuts and by two points to Corn-inthians 13.
These razor-thin margins prove once again that every toss counts!
Playoff Picture & Season Outlook
Week 7, our final week of the regular season, is set to be a critical showdown, especially for teams on the bubble between the A and B Brackets. It will get a bit tricky, as with the current number of teams we have, there will be a chance to replay a team you have already played. The team that will be decided by Scoreholio will be determined by Scoreholio.
While every team qualifies for both playoffs and the championship, next week’s results will finalize your bracket placement and playoff seeding. The top three finishers in each bracket will receive prizes, making every game crucial!
