Week 6 is officially in the books, and the Fall 2024 Mays Landing Cornhole League continues to deliver exciting action! With 35 teams showing up to compete (though we missed The Corndoggs, Corn Flakes, and Wander Women), the energy was electric, and the competition was fierce.
Important Update: Week 7 This Sunday, October 6th
Just a reminder that Week 7 will be played this Sunday, October 6th, at 2:00 PM, not on Thursday, October 10th. Be sure to mark your calendars and arrive early to enjoy brunch at Freddy J’s Bar & Kitchen, which ends at 2 PM. While there are no $1 wings on Sundays, Freddy J’s offers all-day happy hour specials, so make the most of it and fuel up before the matches!
There is no match on Thursday, October 10th, but get ready for the playoffs and Week 8 starting Thursday, October 17th.
Highlights from Week 6
The race for the top spots continues to intensify! While the leaderboard shuffles each week, American Construction has broken back into the top 3 for the first time since Week 3. Their rise has been exciting, but it’s a shame they didn’t enjoy some smoked wings along the way!
With only 2 games separating the top 3 teams from the rest of the pack, every match is crucial as we near the playoffs. The competition is getting tighter, and we consistently see some thrilling weekly matchups.
Looking Forward to the Playoffs
The top 24 teams will advance to the A Bracket, and the bottom 14 will enter the B Bracket. With the standings so close, Week 7 will be critical in determining playoff seeding.
Every team qualifies for the championships. The top 3 of each bracket win prizes and trophies!
