Week 6 Recap – Spring 2025

May 5, 2025 by Grant Kneble

Week 6 is officially in the books, and what a beautiful day and evening it was for cornhole! Perfect weather, great competition, and lots of movement in the standings as we head into the final week before the playoffs.

We had 37 teams compete this week. We missed the Tree Surgeons and half of the Hawaiian Punch Baggers. Our thoughts are with Sarah’s father and Joe’s father-in-law, and we send well wishes to their family.

Highlights from Week 6

Only five teams went undefeated this week, and the race at the top continues to tighten. First and second place were separated by just 4 points, second and third by 1 point, third and fourth by 3 points, and fourth and fifth by only an 8-point difference.

One of the biggest stories this week was Glory Hole taking their second loss of the season, falling to the new third-place team, Mullicans. It’s worth noting that Les from Glory Hole was out recovering from a hip replacement, but he’ll be back better than ever soon, and every team should be ready.

Meanwhile, Red BarN’s Finest continues to dominate. Through six weeks, they’ve allowed only 92 points scored against them, an incredible stat that puts them firmly at the top.

Not everyone had an easy road, though. Sofrito & Sazon was absent this week, possibly with inter-team drama growing after last week’s tension between Luis and Tony, and their no-show cost them dearly. They dropped five spots in the standings.

Another team that felt the sting of missed games was Corny, which, after missing Week 6 and the first two weeks, has dropped to 35th place.

Standings Overview

Heading into the final week of the regular season, things are razor-close.

  • Red BarN’s Finest remains in first place.
  • Glory Hole holds second, but now with pressure from the Mullicans, who have surged into third.
  • Sweetwater Slingers and Bags on Boards round out the top five.

With four games left, the door is still open for the top 25 teams to make the A Bracket, potentially, but not all will make the cut. Every point matters heading into Week 7.

Looking Ahead: Playoffs and Championships

Playoff bracket breakdowns will be announced after Week 7 results are finalized. Records will reset after Week 7, and every team will battle over the next two weeks (Weeks 8 and 9) to determine their seeding for the Week 10 Double Elimination Championship.

Every team qualifies for the championships, regardless.
We will have prizes for the Top 3 teams in both the A and B Brackets.

Starting this year, we’re introducing a new tradition: Permanent plaques will be installed at Freddy J’s listing the A Bracket Champions from each season.

Each season will have its own plaque, and we will also honor all the winners from past seasons.
