Week 9 Recap – Summer 2023

Hello, Cornhole enthusiasts! The Summer 2023 season of the Mays Landing Cornhole League is heating up as we approach the grand finale. Week 9 was a blistering display of skill, perseverance, and true sportsmanship, as our teams battled the heat and each other. And as we prepare for the championship week, we’re also gearing up for a fantastic celebration filled with fun, camaraderie, and plenty of surprises!

But before we dive into the game highlights, let’s talk about the grand culmination of the season. After the dust settles on the championship week, we’re heading to Freddy J’s Bar & Kitchen. Here, we’ll let our hair down and celebrate the season’s highs and lows, honor the champions, and enjoy the company of friends and family. Our after-party won’t just be about the trophy ceremony – we’ll also have exciting prizes and giveaways you won’t want to miss! So, bring along your loved ones, and let’s make it a night to remember!

Now, onto the games. The week started with 4 Bags 1 Hole demonstrating their skills against Husk and a Half, securing a commanding victory with a score of 21-1.

Jsquared then faced off against Title Tossin Twosome, showing their strength with a solid score of 21-6.

Beer Pressure took on All In, with Beer Pressure emerging victorious with a decisive 28-6 score.

Tossing Fools and Ace Holes had a closely contested match, with Tossing Fools narrowly outplaying Ace Holes with a score of 21-18.

We So Corny put on a solid performance against Corn Muffins, outplaying them with a score of 26-13.

MD Assassins had a thrilling match against American Construction, with MD Assassins coming out on top.

Team Landi showed their strength against We So Corny, taking the match with a score of 23-8.

Cornholios and Dat Couple had a close match, with Dat Couple eventually taking the win with a score of 22-16.

Lastly, Bags on Boards clinched a narrow victory against Title Tossin Twosome with a score of 22-20.

While the competition was heating up, we did miss some teams. Unfortunately, Corn Dawgz, Corn Bulbs, Cornhall Junkies, Gonna Cream You, and Loveshack had to withdraw from the season. However, we’re thrilled to announce that Corn Flakes will return for the championship week!

Cornhole, as we always emphasize, is about the love of the game, camaraderie among players, and the joy it brings. So, let’s continue to cheer for our teams, appreciate our sponsors, and celebrate the spirit of Cornhole!

The championship week is just around the corner! It will feature a thrilling double-elimination bracket with the top 17 teams. Plus, Tito’s is bringing their girls to provide free samples at Freddy J’s Bar & Kitchen! We’ll also have sign-ups for the fall league, so join.
